Job Purpose

The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating high-quality, evidence-based autism therapeutic and educational services at a center for disabilities in Palm Beach Co., Florida. This role focuses on ensuring that services align with evidence-based practices for autism, meeting the unique needs of clients, families, and staff.

Additionally, the Director will collaborate with and train staff at the Learning Center, a charter school housed on campus.

Responsibilities

Oversight of Clinical Services

  • Manage day-to-day operations, including budgets, to ensure sustainable and high-quality service delivery.
  • Oversee EMR systems, scheduling, documentation, billing, and credentialing in coordination with the accounting department.
  • Collaborate with clinical experts and educators to deliver services based on evidence-based practices for autism.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to therapeutic services team members, ensuring high-quality care for individuals with autism.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and recommend improvements for therapeutic and educational services.
  • Coordinate comprehensive care for individuals with autism in collaboration with external providers and agencies.
  • Supervise university practicum/internship programs and professional observerships.
  • Lead training and professional development for Foundation and charter school staff.
  • Develop and manage continuing education content for the Autism Learning Management System.
  • Prepare reports on program performance and share findings with the leadership team.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and conferences as required.
  • Provide direct service as needed to support cohesive care for clients and families.

Grant Writing and Research

  • Identify funding needs and support the grant-writing process.
  • Actively participate in campus-wide research meetings and autism-related research projects.

Campus-Wide Collaborations

  • Conduct observations of classroom instruction and therapeutic services.
  • Provide summaries of observations with feedback and recommendations to the leadership team, offering coaching and training as needed.
  • Develop effective professional relationships with Learning Center staff and administration.
  • Create and implement feedback surveys for parents, teachers, clinicians, and staff.

Staff Management

  • Collaborate with HR to recruit, hire, and train qualified staff to support service growth and sustainability.
  • Provide ongoing supervision and mentorship to therapeutic services team members.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in speech-language pathology, applied behavior analysis, special education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in autism services, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven expertise in managing multiple programs, meeting deadlines, and evaluating program outcomes.
  • Experience in employee management, performance coaching, fiscal management, and grant writing.
  • Competency across diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Extensive experience in therapeutic interventions for children with autism.
  • Knowledge in implementing communication and behavioral assessment programs for individuals with ASD.
  • Skilled in research, data collection, and clinical procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and web navigation.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Dual Certification: Licensed and certified speech-language pathologist and board-certified behavior analyst (BCBA/BCBA-D), or PsyD/PhD in clinical psychology and BCBA/BCBA-D.
  • PCM and CPR Certification.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Portuguese.

Work Environment

  • Work is conducted on campus and in community-based locations.
  • Position may require sitting, kneeling, standing, or bending to meet client needs.
  • Flexible schedule, including potential evening/weekend hours and travel.
  • Dress code: Comfortable business casual attire.
