THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBER
J.P. Morgan Executive John L. Perez Appointed to Foundation’s Board of Directors
(Lake Worth Beach, Fla.) – The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County’s President and CEO, James Gavrilos, has announced John L. Perez, Executive Director and Market Executive with J.P. Morgan, has joined its Board of Directors.
“John brings a wealth of financial expertise, community knowledge and a deep commitment to supporting the growth of Palm Beach County,” said Gavrilos. “As a South Florida native, John understands the importance of investing in our community and creating opportunities for future generations. We are excited to welcome him to our Board and look forward to the perspective and leadership he will bring as we continue our work to support students throughout Palm Beach County.”
With more than 15 years of experience supporting local businesses, Perez co-leads J.P. Morgan’s efforts to support middle market companies in the Palm Beach market. He leads a team that provides tailored financial solutions, including lending, treasury management, risk management and strategic advisory services. Perez joined J.P. Morgan in 2008 as part of the firm’s expansion into South Florida.
Perez earned his master’s in finance from The Chapman Graduate School of Business at Florida International University, as well as a bachelor’s in business administration and a graduate certificate in accounting and auditing from the same institution. He resides in Pembroke Pines with his wife, Jacqueline, and their two children.
The Education Foundation Board of Directors executive officers include Lisa King, Board Chair; Lisa Park, Immediate Past Board Chair; Jordan Paul, Secretary and Chair of Programs and Grants Committee; Marty Cass, Treasurer and Chair of Finance Committee; Jim Moore, Chair of Human Resources Committee; Michael Pych, Chair of Development Committee; Max Macon, Executive Board Member; Juan Tagle, Executive Board Member and Kenneth Kahn, Executive Board Member.
The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County was founded in 1984 and awards grants, supports innovative programs and scholarships, and provides necessary school supplies and resources from Red Apple Supplies, the Foundation’s signature program. The Education Foundation operates over 100 programs which close achievement gaps in learning, prepare students for post-secondary success and create positive, measurable change for over 100,000 students.
