THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY ANNOUNCES TWO NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Maria Bishop and Jamie Wyatt to Help Spotlight Education in Palm Beach County
 
(Lake Worth Beach, Fla.) – The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, which serves as a nexus between the county’s public schools and the community, has announced that School District of Palm Beach County (SDPBC) leaders Maria Bishop and Jamie Wyatt have joined its Board of Directors.
 
“We are proud and honored to welcome Jamie and Maria to our exceptional Board of Directors,” said James Gavrilos, President and CEO of the Education Foundation. “Their leadership roles within the District, along with their passion and dedication to student success, will be tremendous assets to our organization as we work to advance educational excellence and expand opportunities for every student in Palm Beach County.”
 
Wyatt is the Deputy Superintendent and Chief of Schools for the SDPBC and has a 30-year career committed to ensuring all children receive a high-quality education. As Chief of Staff, she worked closely with District leadership, the community and business leaders to ensure that the SDPBC provides the highest level of service and support to students, families and staff. In her new role as Deputy Superintendent she works with academic teams, principal supervisors and school-based leaders to ensure all students receive a world-class education. She is also a board member of Best Foot Forward and Community in Schools.
 
Bishop has a 33-year career in the SDPBC and currently serves as its Chief Academic Officer, overseeing the development and implementation of high-quality instructional programs for more than 170,000 students across 183 schools. Her extensive experience includes 13 years as a Principal and Assistant Principal at diverse Title I schools as well as serving as an Instructional Superintendent for the District. Bishop also serves on the Board of Directors for the Early Learning Coalition and Cambridge International.
 
The Education Foundation Board of Directors executive officers include Lisa King, Board Chair; Lisa Park, Immediate Past Board Chair; Jordan Paul, Secretary and Chair of Programs and Grants Committee; Marty Cass, Treasurer and Chair of Finance Committee; Jim Moore, Chair of Human Resources Committee; Michael Pych, Chair of Development Committee; Max Macon, Executive Board Member; Juan Tagle, Executive Board Member and Kenneth Kahn, Executive Board Member.

The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County was founded in 1984 and awards grants, supports innovative programs and scholarships, and provides necessary school supplies and resources from Red Apple Supplies, the Foundation’s signature program. The Education Foundation operates over 100 programs which close achievement gaps in learning, prepare students for post-secondary success and create positive, measurable change for over 100,000 students.
