Pop Art Celebrated with Warhol! Warhol! Warhol! at the Lighthouse ArtCenter

December 28, 2021, Tequesta, Fla. – Lighthouse ArtCenter (LAC) opens the new year with Warhol! Warhol! Warhol!, January 13 - March 23, 2022. The exhibition is a celebration of pop art that includes rarely seen originals by Andy Warhol; ceramist Ray Grosss pop art sculptures including a life-sized porcelain Harley-Davidson; a Pop Art Jewelry Show & Sale; James Thurmans Paper Alchemy show of patented Thurmanite art; and Ethical Metalsmiths Mini Radical Jewelry Makeover. On opening night, January 13, 2022, guests will enjoy beverages and the ArtCenters signature hors doeuvres served alfresco in front of the gallery. The exhibition is free to members and $5 for nonmembers.
 
In recent years the gallery has brought Frank Lloyd Wrights Guggenheim, Nick Caves renowned Sound Suits, and Kara Walkers Sugar Babies,states Curator, Janeen Mason. Weve curated exhibits showing Clyde Butchers iconic photos of the Everglades, and Edie Widders first photos ever taken of a giant squid alive. Were keeping this trajectory of excellence with Warhol! Warhol! Warhol!
 
Warhol! Warhol! Warhol! (Spencer Gallery) brings over twenty pieces of rarely seen original Andy Warhol art on loan from Beth Rudin DeWoody and Marshall Fieldss private collections. Andy Warhol, arguably the most famous artist in the last 100 years was an artist, director, and producer who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. The exhibition gives locals and visitors the opportunity to view this iconic artists work in person. Although the original Warhol pieces will not be for sale, the other Pop Art Inspiredwork on exhibit in the Shorr Gallery will be available for purchase.
 
Ray Gross Pop Art Sculpture (Shorr Gallery) is a homage to Warhols Pop Art and includes a life-sized Harley-Davidson made of porcelain. Ray Gross is a celebrated ceramist who is known for his hand-built, hand-painted, hyper-realistic porcelain sculptures. His art depicts 3D items of everyday Americana, including utilitarian art objects such as paint cans, tubes, brushes, pencils, and other artist tools that have seized the attention of collectors, and have been installed in public and corporate spaces.
 
Also on display is a juried Pop Art Jewelry Show & Sale featuring over sixty one-of-a-kind Warhol-inspired necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, and broaches created by artists from across the country.
 
James Thurmans Paper Alchemy show includes over thirty contemporary pieces of jewelry and sculptural objects by talented national and international artists. Paper Alchemy is a traveling exhibition of artwork that utilizes Thurmans invention of handcrafted material created entirely of layered recycled paper and eco-resin, Thurmanite.
 
A mini version of Ethical Metalsmiths Radical Jewelry Makeover, features upcycled or broken jewelry that has been re-purposed and designed into unique newpieces of jewelry.
