Event Description:
The Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County Building Better Readers program welcomes volunteer tutors for elementary school aged children in the School District of Palm Beach County. Join our training session on Monday, September 14 from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Literacy Coalition. The training site is located at 3651 Quantum Blvd in Boynton Beach. This session will be preparing tutors for in school tutoring, starting with the 2026-27 school year. In addition, volunteers can tutor at after school location sites or tutor virtually.

Classroom Tutoring: Tutor elementary school students in reading comprehension during school hours at selected elementary schools. Time required: 60- or 90-minute sessions twice a week or partner with another volunteer to each tutor once per week.

After School Tutoring: 
Commit to tutoring a child in person, one-to-one, in reading comprehension at the Literacy Coalition’s Blume Literacy Center, at various locations in Palm Beach County, or virtually for two hours a week. 

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
