Annual Tea Celebrating the Women in Business Mentorship Academy

Hosted by the Women in Business Council
Presented by Lickstein Plastic Surgery

Join us in celebrating the 6th year of the Women in Business Mentorship Academy at the Annual Tea on Thursday, April 23, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at The Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens.

This signature spring event honors the power of mentorship, leadership, and meaningful connection among women in business. Guests will reflect on the history and continued success of the Women in Business Council’s Mentorship Academy, Presented by Lickstein Plastic Surgery, and learn more about the growing Mentorship Alumni Group, presented by Florida Crystals, which extends the impact of mentorship well beyond the program year.

Featured Program & Panel Discussion

A central component of this year’s Annual Tea will be a curated panel discussion focused on access to capital and funding pathways for women-owned businesses, reinforcing the real-world impact of mentorship at every stage of growth.

The discussion will explore how mentorship, financial access, and strategic support intersect to help women launch, sustain, and scale successful businesses.

We are honored to welcome Loretta McCarthy, Founder and CEO of Golden Seeds, who will bring a national perspective on women-led leadership, mentorship, and investment. Golden Seeds is one of the nation’s most active early-stage investment firms focused on women-led companies, and McCarthy has spent decades advancing opportunities for women entrepreneurs through access to capital and strategic mentorship.

She will be joined by Laura King Curran, a commercial banker with First Citizens Bank whose career spans more than three decades in the banking industry. Curran specializes in working with businesses in the medical, professional, and industrial sectors that are in the growth phase of their business cycle, helping clients navigate financing strategies and long-term business planning through tailored financial solutions.

Also joining the conversation is Monique Nicolosi, SBA Business Development Officer at First Citizens Bank. With nearly 14 years of SBA lending experience and almost 30 years in the banking industry, Nicolosi works closely with small business owners to secure financing for acquisitions, expansions, and real estate investments, helping entrepreneurs access the capital needed to grow and succeed.

Together, the panel will provide valuable insights into the financial tools, mentorship networks, and investment opportunities available to help women entrepreneurs build and grow successful businesses.

Excellence in Mentorship Award

As part of the program, the Women in Business Council will proudly present the Excellence in Mentorship Award, recognizing an individual whose commitment to mentorship has made a lasting and meaningful impact on women in our business community.

A Signature Experience

Hosted by the Women in Business Council, the Annual Tea is a once-a-year spring tradition where women, and supporters of women in business, come together for an elegant afternoon celebrating community, philanthropy, and progress. Guests are encouraged to embrace the tea theme with festive attire and hats as we enjoy an elevated experience with purpose.

This event serves as a major fundraiser for the Women in Business Mentorship Academy, supporting future cohorts of women leaders.
