Get Creative with Unique Experiences at the Lightouse ArtCenter

Newly Renovated School of Art Reopens with In-Person and Virtual Classes
 
October 2, 2020 – Tequesta, Fla. – The Lighthouse ArtCenter (LAC) is now offering a plethora of in-person classes and creative experiences at their newly renovated School of Art. COVID-19 safety precautions are in place and include sanitation procedures, limited class sizes, required masks, and a Community Commitment Agreement. Virtual classes will continue to be offered. Eight-week sessions begin on October 19 in ceramics, drawing, fused glass, jewelry and metalsmithing, mixed media, painting, photography and sculpture. Outdoor painting classes are available under a newly built chickee hut located behind the school of art building. The ArtCenter also offers one and two-day workshops and unique experiences on “Select Fridays” from October 2020 through April 2021. The experiences include classes in glass fusion, jewelry, and an outdoor or “en plein air” Wine & Paint. The Gallery is temporarily closed for renovations and scheduled to reopen January 2021. “We are so excited to see our students again! Art is a therapeutic outlet that we could all use. We offer a relaxing and fun community where people can unwind and get creative,” says Director of Education, Maria Tritico. “The ‘Select Fridays’ series is a unique way to spend your Friday night. No experience is necessary.”

Outdoor classes under the chickee hut include painting, acrylics, exploring watercolors, Intro to Acrylics, Water Color for Absolute Beginners
 
“Select Fridays”
Glass Fusion Classes
Create a one-of-a kind quality fused glass art plate with instruction in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Learn the basics of glass fusion from cutting to layout of design. You will use a wide variety of colored glass, stringers and frit to embellish your creation.  NO experience needed. Materials and firing schedules included. Please wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothes, and an apron, if you have one. All students are required to wear a mask; if you don't have one, we will supply one.

Fabulous Bracelets
Had a long week? Get your mind on creating beautiful bracelets! We will use gold-filled square and sterling silver round wire to explore linear forms, wrapping techniques, and tension clasps to develop our jewelry pieces. Demonstrations will include use of the round nose and chain nose pliers, measuring your bracelet for a custom fit, and finishing techniques. All skill levels are welcome! NO experience is necessary. Please order your materials a week before the workshop.

Wine & Paint en Plein Air at Jupiter Creamery
Join the LAC at Jupiter Creamery for a fun evening of learning to paint en plein air with step-by-step instruction in a casual, outdoor setting! Over 21 only, BYOB.
