Event Description:
Join the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce for our monthly breakfast on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott. This year's State of the County program will feature County Administrator, Verdenia Baker, who will provide an update on accomplishments of the County over the past year as well as plans for the future of the County. 

Our Education Committee will host a School Supply Drive during check-in.  All proceeds will benefit West Riviera Elementary School.  Monetary donations are also welcome.  Please consider donating the following items: copy paper, #2 pencils, glue sticks, crayons, notebook paper (both college and wide ruled) and spiral notebooks.


ABOUT VERDENIA BAKER
As County Administrator, Verdenia Baker, a Certified Financial Manager, is responsible foadministration of thpolicies of the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners. She  manages the  daily  operatioof county government, which includemore tha6,00employees and a budgeo$billion.  Palm Beach County is onof the few counties in thnatiowith AAA bond ratinganhas a populatioomore tha1.3 milliopersons.
 
Verdenia begahecareewith Palm Beach County in 198as a Budget Analyst; she thewapromoteto Impact Fee Coordinatoaneventuallbecame thdivisiodirectoof the County's Financial Management Department. Heexperience as a financial managewas a prelude to her promotioto Assistant County Administrator anonyear later to Deputy County Administrator. Shserveathe County's liaison and leanegotiatoon the successfurecruitmenoThe Scripps Research Institute resulting in a growing bio-technology industry in Palm  Beach County. Shwas responsible foRedistrictinof County Commission Districts in 2000 an2010.
 
Verdenia collaboratedaily with  representativeoother jurisdictions,  developersprivate industry, civic and community organizationon issueointerest pertaining to county business. She represents the  county on regional initiatives involving privatanpublic sectoentities  ospeciaprojects includingbunot limiteto, two (2) SupeBowls in 200an200and the ThiranFinal PresidentiaDebato2012. Fiduciary responsibilities remain on thtooheagendas she reviewanapprovedepartmentaanagency budgets before  passing them to the Board of County Commissioners for approval.
 
Verdenia holds a Masteof Science Degree in Public Administration, Bacheloof Science Degree in Rehabilitative Services, both from Florida State University. Event Cancellation Policy: 
 A notice of cancellation must be received by email within 72 hours (3 business days) prior to the event. NO verbal cancellations will be accepted. All cancellation notices received within 72 hours (3 business days) prior to the event will be given an event credit of equal value. Event credits will be applied upon request and are good for up to 1 year from the purchase date. There are NO REFUNDS.
