Join the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce for our monthly breakfast on Wednesday, October 18 at PGA National Resort & Spa featuring keynote speaker, Ido Sivan-Sevilla. 

We are honored that the Israel Public Diplomacy Forum specifically selected the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce to host this event.  Ido Sivan-Sevilla is a computer and social scientist. He has accumulated multi-dimensional experience in cyber-security and public policy from the private and public sectors as well as in the military and academia. He is currently a PhD Candidate at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, studying the regulatory tensions between security and privacy in cyberspace. His award-winning PhD research presentation was part of several leading cyber-security and public policy conferences around the world. He is also serving as a research fellow at the cyber-security program of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) and writing a book about cyber-security regulation at the civic and business sectors with Dr. Gabi Siboni.

Mr. Sivan-Sevilla is one of the leading experts on honeypots technologies in Israel, and is currently building a hands-on curriculum on honeypots for the training of cyber-security professionals. At the Hebrew University, he teaches public policy theories in the Israeli government cadets program to increase the understanding of how and why public policies evolve. He received his BA with honors in computer science at the Technion ? Israel's Institute of Technology and specialized in computer security. After years of cyber-security work experience Mr. Sivan-Sevilla was named U.S. State Department Fulbright Scholar and completed his MA at the Humphrey School of Public Affairs in the University of Minnesota. During his MA program, he served as a legislative assistant at the U.S. Congress and worked as a research fellow at the House of Representative's Science and Technology & Foreign Affairs Committees. He also served as a research assistant for former USAID Chair, Brian Atwood, and studied the nature of U.S. regulatory institutions.

In his PhD studies, he was named Israel's Ministry of Science scholar and designed honeypots infrastructures to attract and learn about the behavior of hackers in online systems. He was also awarded several national distinguished scholarships for PhD students and serves as a research and teaching assistant at the Federmann School of Public Policy and Government at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
